The Washed Up Mermaid

This mermaid has been washed up to our world with an important message, the impact of our waste has been devastating in our oceans and the act exposes this sad truth. Sitting on an unsightly rubbish heap the silvery mermaid is an unforgettable image. Created from ocean waste, recycled plastics and repurposed materials this human statue performance shares with us a glimmer of hope and urges us to rise above the rubbish and do something about it.
Washed up Mermaid has appeared at Camborne Green Fest, Great Estate Festival, Festival of the Sea Grimsby, Foyle Maritime Festival, Plymouth Pirate Weekend and has also been adapted along with Detritus of the Deep as a Storytelling show for the National Maritime Museum Falmouth in 2022. Washed up Mermaid also features in Hotch Potch’s current project in development Deep Sea Disco which incorporates environmental awareness with an accessible immersive family disco.
A living Statue based act incorporating live and recorded music which is also available as an illuminated performance for night time events.
